Miss World 2021 Top 40: Namrata Shrestha representing Nepal

The 70th edition of Miss World, i.e. Miss World 2021, will be held on 16th March 2022 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In a recent announcement made by the Miss World organization, Top 40 delegates were selected to enter the final leg of the competition.

In a series of features, here are the forty delegates, in no particular order, (15 from the fast-track competitions and 25 through judges’ choice) who will fly to Puerto Rico for the coronation night.

 

 

Namrata Shrestha representing Nepal made it to Top 40 by winning the Head-to-Head fast track challenge. A team supporter, Namrata took to her official social media as she wrote, “As we have been told from Day 1, We all are winners, We Are! To my sisters chosen to advance further in the pageant yesterday, a big congratulations. I can’t wait to reunite with you all in Puerto Rico this March!”

“A big thank you to @missworld organisation for coming up with the decision that I believe must have been very hard, to choose 25 from such incredible and amazing bunch of women! Thank you each and everyone (from Nepal and globally) for always encouraging me and recognising my work as a Miss Nepal”, she added.

The 24-year-old Namrata is currently studying for a Post Graduate Degree in Sociology and is working as a Kindergarden Teacher, one day she would like to open her own school. She also has a passion for belly dancing and the arts, which is always why for the talent auditions held recently, the diva showcased belly dance mixed with Nepali moves.

Nepal has been giving an outstanding performance at Miss World in the recent years; In 2017, Nikita Chandak represented Nepal at Miss World 2017 and placed in Top 40. She also placed in Top 30 at the Top Model preliminary competition. Through her amazing advocacy, Nikita also placed as the second runner-up at the Multimedia competition. In the next year, in 2018, Shrinkhala Khatiwada placed in the Top 12 with her stellar performance. In 2019, through Anushka Shrestha’s amazing performance, Nepal placed in the Top 12. She also won the Multimedia competition and Beauty with a Purpose competition consecutively for her country.
