The coronation ceremony for 70th edition of Miss World i.e., Miss World 2021 is scheduled to take place in December 2021. Miss World organization decided to postpone the beauty pageant due to the on-going scare of the pandemic coronavirus across the globe. Miss World 2019 Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

The decision benefitted the divas as they had ample amount of time to prepare themselves for the finale night. As of now 33 delegates from all over the world have been crowned/appointed to represent their respective country at Miss World 2021.

In November 2019, Miss World Guatemala 2019 Keila Rodas crowned her successor Hillary Mendoza Gamez of Suchitepequez as Miss World Guatemala 2020, who will be representing Guatemala at Miss World 2021 in Puerto Rico from 21st November to 16th December 2021.

Hailing from Cuidad Capital, Hillary is 22 years-old and stands 169 cm tall. She is a teacher of Bilingual Spanish/English Pre-Primary Education. She is currently a student of fourth semester in Medicine at Rafael Landivar University and holds a diploma in effective communication.

After winning Miss World Guatemala 2020 Hillary took to her social media to express her excitement and gratitude. She wrote, “Someone once told me that 'time' is a predator that stalks us all our lives. But I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment because it will never come again. - THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, BLESSED”.  Hillary is extremely proud and feels fortunate to be able to represent her country at the Miss World 2020 stage.

The Little Dreamers of Guatamela Foundation in collaboration with Miss World Guatemala 2020 Hillary Mendoza funded David Lopez’s ongoing treatment for life threatening body burns. The Miss World Organisation on their official website’s ‘Beauty with Purpose’ segment mentioned Hillary for her kind gesture towards helping a boy who had 90% body burns.  Hillary’s life-giving help is a true representation of Beauty with Purpose.

Hillary also supported those fighting the coronavirus with her #IStayHomeFor campaign. The diva also produced a charismatic video message that conveyed the importance of staying at home and the collective effort that must be made to adhere to Governments’ instructions. Hillary gave personal hygiene guidelines of wearing masks, gloves, keeping a safe distance between people. It shows her gratitude towards the front-line workers curtailing the disease. She promises to be of use to the society and keep producing inspiring content.

It is interesting to notice that Guatemala won its last International Pageant in 1984. It’s been 37 years since Guatemala held on an International title, but with Hillary as a strong, confident, beautiful, and inspiring delegate of the country, Guatemala seems to have their hopes high in bringing home a Miss World Title. Hillary Mendoza is indeed a potential winner.
