Ngan Mai crowned as Miss South East Asian 2016

The gala finale of Miss South East Asian 2016 concluded with the crowning of Ngan Mai from Vietnam as the winner. The finale of Miss South East Asia 2016 was held on May 28’ 2016 in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. It was a back to back win for Vietnam, as last year Thu Vu from Vietnam clinched the coveted title.

At the same event, Miss Borneo Cheryl Lynn finished first runner-up, and Miss Myanmar Nay Thiri Tun placed second runner-up and also won the Multimedia award. The finale was judged by three prominent judges including well known designers and model. One was a Malaysian supermodel, Josephine Tan Yee.

Ngan Mai crowned as Miss South East Asian 2016

 

25 years old Ngan is a business owner from Ho Chi Minh. In addition to winning the prestigious crown, Ngan also won the Designer Dress Award. The other finalists who made it to the Top 5 were Miss Philippines Kimberly Tee (Best Model winner) and Miss Malaysia Jane Wong (Talent winner).

The contestants walked down the stage in their national dresses, featuring Splendors of Southeast Asia (dances from their own countries), and designer dresses.
