A send-off party was arranged for the reigning queens Rachel Peters Miss Universe Philippines 2017, Chanel Olive Thomas Miss Supranational Philippines 2017 and Katarina Rodriguez Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2017 at Novotel in Quezon City.
On the same occasion, 1st runner-up in Miss Globe 2017 Nelda Ibe and 2nd runner-up in Miss Grand International 2017 Elizabeth Clenci were given a home-coming celebration party.
It was an emotional moment for the guests as all the reigning queens reunited in this celebration and they were all seen sharing a love and best wishes to each other.
Elizabeth was in tears while sending her best wishes to Rachel for Miss Universe pageant. She said –
"Rachel, it's been the most incredible journey having you by my side. I'm so proud of you. You're gonna be such an incredible queen and I'm just so excited, I'll be watching Miss Universe for you screaming because I know you're gonna be amazing, you already make us all so proud, we're all so proud of you and you've grown so much."
Rachel congratulated Elizabeth and Nelda and said, "I wanna congratulate Liz and Nelda. I followed every step of the way for both of your pageants and I'm so proud that you are my friends and you are my sisters. No matter what you feel just remember how proud we all are for the both of you.”
Rachel Peters also revealed about her plans and thoughts for Miss Universe pageant through a press conference at the same event. She publicized about the contenders that she feels is a strong competition for her when she said –
"I have seen the girls, I have seen what they are up to and I think the two of my toughest competitions are Miss Thailand and Miss South Africa, who actually share the same last name as me.”
Rachel further added,"I think it's really everyone's game because what you see on Instagram and Facebook that's a picture, you can edit that picture, once you're there, that's when you'll know who the real winner is.”
While Rachel is all in Las Vegas, USA for Miss Universe that started on 11th November 2017, Chanel will fly to Poland for the Miss Supranational pageant on 1st December and Katarina will catch her flight for Sri Lanka later in December for Miss Intercontinental pageant. Meanwhile, Mariel de Leon is already busy with Miss International 2017 in Japan.
