The magnificent finale of Miss Universe Guyana 2017 was held last night at York College Performing Arts Centre, Jamaica, New York with twelve gorgeous finalists competing for the coveted title this year. The event concluded with the crowning of Rafieya Husain as the winner. She succeeds Miss Universe Guyana 2016 Soyini Fraser, who was Guyana's representative in Miss Universe 2016.
French beauty and Miss Universe 2016, Iris Mittenaere, graced the finale and crowned the beauty who will represent Guyana in Miss Universe 2017. Rafieya also won the awards for the Best Interview, Miss Popularity, and Miss Elegant. At the same event, Sharisse Victor was adjudged the first runner-up and Nalicia Ramdyal was adjudged as the second runner-up.
Rafieya was earlier crowned Miss World Guyana 2014 and has represented Guyana in Miss World 2014 where she was placed amongst the Top 10 finalists and was titled Miss World Carribean 2014.
