The organization of Senorita Panama hosted the coronation ceremony for Senorita Panama 2021 on 7th November 2021 at Hotel Whyndham Convention Center, Panama City, where delegates from all over the country competed for the national crown and the chance to represent Panama at Miss Universe 2021. At the end of the event, Brenda Smith Lezama was crowned as the new queen as she succeeded Señorita Panamá 2020 Carmen Isabel Jaramillo.

The 26-year-old did her bachelor’s from University of Missouri in Journalism and Cultural Studies. Brenda is a household name in the acting biz, having starred in multiple shows like El Gordo y La Flaca, Republica Deportiva and Los Cousins. She is known for her work in Nuestra Belleza Latina (2006), Reversion (2018) and Dr. Drew on Call (2011).

The actress is a proud advocate of Afro-Latin culture and has dedicated herself to raise awareness about development and recognition of African people. She is a professional speaker who reflects on stepping up, speaking out and the power of using a young voice to make a difference.

The diva stands 171 cm tall and boasts of a stunning portfolio as a pageant veteran, having won multiple pageants in the US, Mexico, and Panama. She was crowned Mexicana Universal Ciudad de México 2019 and represented Ciudad de México at the Mexicana Universal 2020 where she was adjudged as the second runner-up. Apart from this, she has previously participated and was crowned Miss Missouri Teen USA 2013 and represented Missouri at Miss Teen USA 2013 where she was placed at Top 15 and as the first runner-up at Miss Georgia USA 2017. She has also participated in Our Latin Beauty 2018.
