Binibini 29 - Maria Mika Maxine Medina, who was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2016 at the end of the gala event held on April 17’ at the at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City, Philippines, will now represent Philippines at the much anticipated Miss Universe 2016 pageant, and Pinoy fans are banking on Maria Medina to do best at the Miss Universe pageant.

She is a Professional Model with an ace under her sleeve – Maria Medina is a member of the ‘Professional Models Association of the Philippines’ (PMAP). PMAP is an organization initiated by top models back in the late '80s. Maxine owns an expertise in Modeling.
She is a Pageantry Veteran – Prior, before clinching the crown of Bb. Pilipinas 2016, the Binibini was familiar with all the minor to major things related to the pageants. As per the fashion designer Bessie Besana, Maxine was supposed to be a part of the 2012 roster of candidates, but didn't shove through due to contractual commitments.

"We made Maxine join in 2012 but had to be disqualified because of contracts from commercials. Also, she was not ready that time. For 3 years after that we have been pushing her to join. It was Direk Jeff Jeturian who discovered her. So finally, when she said yes, this year, we were all elated," he stated.
She is into Interior Designing – YES! The Filipino graduated from the Philippine School of Interior Design and De La Salle-College of St Benilde. The talented beauty has experience in designing residential condominiums.
Possesses a Nature Lover Quality in her Personality – The newly crowned beauty queen is a nature lover inside, because she loves to explore the exotic beaches, and other outdoor locations. Being an adventurous soul, she loves to do all kind of outdoor activities. Spending quality time with family and friends gives her high.
Her Sister is her sunshine – Being connected by hearts she is so close to her sister, Ferica, who is a host and the First Thomasian Nursing Youth Ambassadress in 2014. They both love each-other and loves to spend time together.
Belongs to a family of Beauty Queens – Maxine Medina’s aunt (Gem Padilla -Thomas) is also a former beauty queen. She was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 1990. During an interview, Gem expressed what she believed made Maxine stand out in the competition.
"In my opinion, she stood out because while we could see her physical beauty and grace, we all saw her inner beauty shine through as well. It was evident on stage that she was there not just to compete for a title but to enjoy the moment as well. She came across as very much herself, very natural. When Kylie's name was called I knew already that Max got the most sought-after title," she stated.

"I think my greatest fear is the expectations of everyone here in the Philippines because we have the Miss Universe [crown]. As Nichole [Manalo] said we have to give more effort and practice more..." Maxine said during a Facebook chat by Creamsilk Monday, April 18.
