On 2nd November 2016, the Miss World Organisation released the promo of Miss World 2016. The finale of Miss World 2016 is scheduled to be held on 18th December 2016, and Mireia Lalaguna of Spain will pass on her reign and her crown to her successor at the conclusion of the coronation.

For the first time in the history of Miss World, the organisation is going to be held in the USA. Washington DC will welcome the gorgeous women from all around the world. Four weeks of Preliminary Competitions, activities, touring and travelling will conclude into the finale which will mark the reign of a new queen.

Miss World is one of the oldest beauty pageants amongst the Big 4 (four) international beauty pageants. The Miss World beauty pageant started in the year 1951, the idea of Miss World beauty pageant was conceptualized by late Eric Morley, the first edition of the Miss World beauty pageant was held in United Kingdom. Miss World is one of the most publicized beauty pageants alongside Miss Universe and Miss Earth pageants.

The annual final is typically a month long event, with several preliminary galas, dinners, balls and activities, culminating in a globally telecast final show in which the field is narrowed to between 15–20 delegates.
