At the final gala night of Miss America 2015 held on September 14, 2014 at the lively Atlantic City in New Jersey, Kira Kazantsev, the reigning Miss New York, has been crowned Miss America 2015 by her predecessor Nina Davuluri, the Miss America 2014.
Kira Kazantsev is of 23 years of age, and is of Russian origin. Apart from the title, she won a $50,000 scholarship provided in part by Joseph Ribkoff Inc. and the Miss America Organization to continue her education, which she intends to use towards law school
The win created history, as it was the third consecutive win for Miss New York at Miss America pageant, following the crowning of Mallory Hagon as Miss America 2013 and Nina Davuluri as Miss America 2014.
The first runner-up was Courtney Paige Garrett, Miss Virginia; the second runner-up was Ashton Campbell, Miss Arkansas; the third runner-up was Victoria Cowen, Miss Florida; and the fourth runner-up was Lauren Kuhn, Miss Massachusetts.
