At the final splendid night of Miss Egypt 2014 pageant held on September 26’ 2014 at Sofitel Hotel - Cairo, Lara Debbane has been crowned Miss Universe Egypt 2014. Lara, 20 years of age, competed with seventeen other finalists to clinch the coveted crown. She will now represent Egypt at the Miss Universe 2014 pageant.
Last representative from Egypt at Miss Universe pageant was in the year 2011, when Sara El-Khouly, the first runner-up of Miss Egypt 2010, was appointed to represent Egypt at Miss Universe 2011.
The event this year had some special guests attending including Stefania Fernandez from Venezuela, Miss Universe 2009; Tereza Fajksová from Czech Republic, Miss Earth 2012; Ekaterina Plekhova from Russia, Miss Intercontinental 2013; Katia Wagner, Miss Austria Earth 2013; and Wahiba Arres, Miss Tunisia 2014.
Other winners at Miss Egypt 2014 were - Amina Ashraf, who was crowned Miss World Egypt 2014 and Nancy Magdy who was crowned Miss Earth Egypt 2014. Heba Hesham was the first runner-up and Shaymaa Mohamed was the second runner-up, and they are expected to represent Egypt at Miss International 2014 and Miss Intercontinental 2014 respectively.
