Saudi Arabia is all set to make history by officially joining the Miss Universe pageant this year under pageant veteran, Rumy Alqahtani’s delegation. The announcement was made by the beauty queen through her official social media as she will begin with her preparations to be crowned as the next Miss Universe.

Rumy Alqahtani is a 27-year-old content creator from Saudi Arabia. Rumy holds a Bachelor's degree in Dentistry and fluent in Arab, French and English. “Honoured to participate in Miss Universe 2024. This is the first participation of Saudi Arabia in the Miss Universe competition”, Rumy quoted.

She has previously represented Saudi Arabia in various international competitions including Miss Asia in Malaysia, Miss Arab Peace and Miss Europe. Apart from being crowned as Miss Saudi Arabia, she also holds various titles such as Miss Middle East Saudi Arabia, Miss Arab World Peace 2021 and Miss Woman Saudi Arabia.

“I hold in my hands the colors of gratitude and love. And in my heart, appreciation and praise to all my friends around the world, this support that made me happy in gathering social media, and I hope to be in good faith, and I am happy because I am the first Miss Saudi Arabia to represent my country in international competitions. Thank you to all my friends for supporting and your love you. I love you all”, Rumy wrote as she expressed her feelings on being Saudi’s official representative at Miss Universe.

The 73rd edition of Miss Universe is scheduled to be held later in the year in Mexico City where Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
