Safiatou Baldé Crowned Miss World Guineé 2016

20 years old, Safiatou Baldé was crowned as Miss World Guineé 2016 on the scintillating event held on January 30’ 2016 by the outgoing titleholder, Mama Aissata Diallo in the city of Conakry. Aissatou Djiguera Camara was titled as first runner up and Hawa Keita was adjudged as second runner up at the same event. The sanguine beauty, which stands 5’ 8.5″ tall, will now represent Guinea at the Miss World 2016 pageant.

The ceremony came to the conclusion in the presence of Ministers of Culture and Promotion of Women. The first phase involved participation of nineteen candidates, of which ten were uprooted to find themselves in the second round. The further round exposed a general knowledge test in order to assess the intellectual level of candidates that the jury deliberated.

After deliberation by the jury, Safiatou Baldé was a huge favorite to win the precious title. In addition to the crown offered by Miss Guinea committee, Safiatou gets a benefit from a budget of 70 million Guinean francs. She will also defend the colors of the country in international cultural meetings and will be present at the book fairs in Paris and Turin (Italy). The first runner up pockets a $45 million, while the second runner up grabs 25 million Guinean francs.

The Minister of Culture and Sports is proud to note that Guinea's beauty is exportable and qualifies it of '' Gross Domestic Happiness” (BIB). Siaka Barry promised active involvement of his department for coaching the next editions of the competition.

The newly crowned Miss Guinea 2016, Safiatou Balde says that during her tenure, she will work on a project for inmates in correctional homes. She also expressed concern about the situation of Ebola orphans.

In 2013, Mariama Diallo was the first Miss World contestant to represent Guinea. In 2014, Halimatou Diallo was adjudged as Top 14 in the Interview Round. Since its participation, Guinea has never placed at Miss World. Will the newly crowned queen make her mark felt at Miss World 2016, only time will tell!
