Kristen Wright, who represented Australia at the finale of 71st Miss World held on 9th March 2024 in Mumbai, India, emerged victorious as she won the Continental Queens of Beauty Award for Oceania. This is the first time that Miss World awarded Continental Winner title to Oceania and Caribbean individually as well.
Hailing from Mornington, Victoria, Kristen was the epitome of grace and confidence at Miss World. With her spectacular performance at the competition, Wright won the Top 12 placement at the finale night. At the pre-pageant activities as well, Kristen placed in the Top 25 at Head-to-Head Challenge, Top 32 at Sports Challenge.
On winning the Miss World Oceania 2024 crown, Kristen took to her official social media as she wrote, “I am incredibly honoured to serve as your Miss World Oceania 2024! I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has consistently shown me love and support, and I am excited to be able to work with our new, beautiful, kind and compassionate Miss World for her year.”
While Kristen missed the trip to Mauritius with the other Continental Queens due to being ill, she expressed she is looking forward to her reign as Miss World Oceania 2024. “I also want to thank you for your well wishes as I recover from being ill. While I am disappointed to have missed the trip to enchanting Mauritius with the team, I am looking forward to future endavours as your Miss Oceania 2024! Thank you again for your unwavering support. My heart is filled with gratitude and excitement for the journey ahead”, she wrote.
Wright also won a lot of recognition for her Beauty with a Purpose project – ‘Educate Resuscitate’, which involves travelling to indigenous communities, youth centers and schools to teach basic first aid, water safety and marine ecology. Kristen is deeply committed to working with local businesses and organizations that are the backbone of the communities.
The coronation night of the 71st Miss World was held tonight, i.e. 9th March 2024 at the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai, India where Krystyna Pyszková of Czech Republic was crowned the new Miss World.
