The Binibining Pilipinas Charities Incorporated (BPCI) chairperson Stella Araneta announced that the long-awaited grand coronation ceremony for Binibining Pilipinas 2020 will be held on 17th April 2021. The announcement was read by the reigning Binibining Pilipinas International Bea Patch Magtanong during the Facebook Live discussion held on 22nd January 2021.
The letter read, “I am happy to announce that the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. is all set to continue with the pageant this year. We officially open the Binibining Pilipinas season with the launch of the National Costume Photo Exhibit in Araneta City. Through this, we aim to celebrate our colourful culture and talented local designers.
Our tradition of identifying and crowning our new queens will be done in a ‘new normal’ and safe setting. We share your excitement as we see the candidates in action again, and we look forward to your continuous support. See you all on April 17, 2021 for the Binibining Pilipinas Grand Coronation Night.”
The organization has scheduled a Binibining Pilipinas National Costume Photo Exhibit at the activity area of the Gateway Mall from 22nd to 31st Januray 2021, and at the Upper Ground floor of Ali Mall from 1st to 14th February 2021.
The opening of the photo exhibit was attended by Binibining Pilipinas International 2019 Patch Magtanong, Binibining Pilipinas Executive Committee member Raymond Villanueva, Uniprom Inc. OIC Irene Jose, and Binibining Pilipinas official photographer Raymond Saldana.
The on-ground exhibit was accompanied by a Facebook live show in the afternoon, with Patch Magtanong as host. The online show discussed each of the candidates’ national costumes, with reviews provided by: Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental – 2019 and Best in National Costume winner Emma Mary Tiglao; and pageant writers/bloggers Voltaire Tayag and Jesson Capuchino.
While the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc lost the Miss Universe franchise in 2019 where Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados was the last Binibining Pilipinas Universe crowned under its helm, it continues to have the Miss International Philippines, Miss Globe Philippines, Miss Intercontinental Philippines, and Miss Grand Philippines beauty pageants under its belt.
