Kushboo Ramnawaj has been appointed as a representative of Mauritius at Miss Universe 2016 at the end of the ceremony held in Mauritius. She was selected by the new franchise holder of Miss Mauritius pageant, Estrella Mauritius.

The newly appointed beauty queen is 26 years old and she hails from Rivière du Poste. She is not new to the world of pageantry as she was crowned as Miss Mauritius 2014 and was supposed to represent the country last year itself, but was replaced due to disagreement with the former franchise holder.

The new franchise holder, Estrella Mauritius stated. “The decision to send Kushboo to Miss Universe 2016 has been unanimous at Estrella Mauritius and we believe that she will be a wonderful representative promoting Estrella Mauritius, Mauritius and its people on such a big scale,”.

“For us, Kushboo represents the ethos of Miss Universe Organization: she is a young empowered woman and is confidently beautiful. After meeting and chatting with Kushboo, we saw the potential in her to promote our brand internationally and her dream to compete at Miss Universe. We had sent a proposal to the Miss Universe Organization and we are thrilled by their decision to allow Kushboo to participate,” Estrella Mauritius added.
