Miss Universe Colombia organization is supposed to appoint a representative to Miss Universe 2022 and the pageant fanatics are suggesting a few names for the same. One name that has been circling in the pageantry is Maria Alejandra Lopez Perez who was adjudged first runner-up at Miss Universe Colombia 2021.

Maria Alejandra Lopez Perez was born in Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia. She studied Industrial Engineering at the Sergio Arboleda University. A fluent speaker of Spanish, English and French, Maria is fond of mathematics and the music of the late Colombian singer-songwriter Joe Arroyo. Interestingly, Maria’s mother was also a beauty queen in the 90s and she has seemed to inherit the same skills through her genes.

The stunning Colombian beauty could be trying her third time at Miss Universe Colombia; she auditioned in 2020 but resigned due to personal reason. In 2021, she re-entered the competition and with her stellar performance, she was adjudged first runner-up.

Also, Maria has represented the province of Risaralda at Miss Colombia 2013 where she was adjudged as the second runner-up and later represented Colombia at Reina Hispanoamericana 2013 where she was crowned as the new queen at the end of the event finale. The diva also participated at Miss Mundo Colombia 2015 where she was crowned as the queen and earned an opportunity to represent Colombia at Miss World 2015. Even though Maria was highly appreciated for her performance, she was unfortunately not placed at the end of the event finale.

With her vast pageant experience, her stunning beauty and brilliant personality, Maria will surely be a strong contender for the national crown if she is appointed the new Miss Universe Colombia 2022.
