Mexicana Universal 2022, the 4th edition of the national pageant of Mexican Universal was held on 21st May 2022 at San Luis Potosí Convention Center, where stunning delegates from all over the country competed for the national titles at stake. At the end of the event, Irma Miranda of Sonora was crowned Mexicana Universal 2022 as she succeeded Debora Hallal for the title, and will represent Mexico at the upcoming Miss Universe 2022.

Apart from the title, other winners included –

Mexicana International 2023 – Itzia García of Colima

Mexicana Hispanoamericana 2022 – Diana Robles of Guanajuato

Mexicana Latinoamericana 2023 – Verónica Gamboa of Nayarit

After her win, Irma took to her social media to share, “God’s times are perfect! Thank you Sonora, Thank you Mexico! I promise to give my best and never give up, to leave our country high. I will be MEXICO before the UNIVERSE.”  The diva also inspired others to never give as she added, “Follow your dreams, don't let anyone limit you, let no one tell you who to be, much less who to become... you are the pilot of your life, live it, enjoy it and take advantage of every moment to grow, learn and raise your voice!”

25-year-old Irma is studying Business Administration and is also working as a Technician in Agribusiness. Irma Miranda was the first finalist in NBM 2016, and this year the diva has returned stronger and more passionate about representing the country on the international platform.

In 2021, while there was no national pageant held, Débora Hallal was designated Mexicana Universal 2021 who represented Mexico at Miss Universe 2021 but remained unplaced. This year, Irma will represent the country at the 71st Miss Universe pageant with a chance to create a sandwich win for Mexico following Andrea Meza’s successful reign as Miss Universe 2020.
