The Miss Denmark organization hosted the coronation ceremony for the 2021 edition of the national pageant on 29th November 2021  at Odd Fellow Palace where stunning delegates from all over the country competed for the national title. At the end of the event, Johanne Grundt Hansen was crowned as Miss Denmark 2021 as she succeeded Miss Denmark 2019 Katja Stokholm.

After being crowned as the new queen, Johanne took to her social media to share, “Yesterday was the wildest day. I am so incredibly honored and grateful to be Miss Denmark 2021! It has been an absolutely amazing, challenging and especially educational course that I would never be without. Throughout the process, I have met so many beautiful and lovely girls, and I have learned an incredible amount about myself in a short time. We have had the most talented mentor team that has helped and prepared us for the grand finale. Thank you very much!”

20 years old Johanne is from Fensmark on Zealand. She became a student this summer and now has a sabbatical year where she works as a waiter at a Korean restaurant. In addition, she is a model for the agency BasicCPH and also teaches Karate. Johanne has trained Karate for over 12 years, and in the summer of 2019 got her black belt. When she finishes her sabbatical year, she dreams of studying Chinese, which she was captivated by during her time in high school.

“Beauty for me is to be able to rest in oneself, and trust that one is good enough as one is. In addition, I think that beauty means being naturally beautiful and sincere, but also being good and aware of the people you have around you,” she shared.

Johanne describes herself as positive, caring, and always tries to see the best in other people. Some of the qualities she values highly about herself is that she is a purposeful and honest person. In the future, she dreams of making a difference in the environmental field - especially the marine environment - as Johanne and her family have been sailing since she was very young, and therefore have always had a special relationship with the sea.
