Divita Rai from Karnataka was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2022 at the 10th anniversary of Miss Diva pageant. She was crowned by the reigning Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu at the end of the event finale held on 28th August 2022 at Famous Studios in Mahalaxmi, Mumbai.
Divita is 23 years of age. She was born in Mangalore but she stayed in different parts of the country throughout her life as her father's profession involved traveling across the country. Apart from being a model, Divita is also an architect by profession.
Divita finished her schooling at Bengaluru's National Public School. She went on to complete her graduation from Sir JJ College of Architecture in Mumbai. Her motto in life is ‘To not fear change, embrace life, and live each moment to its fullest’.
Divita also has a passion for sports, especially badminton and basketball. The stunning Indian beauty has artistic interests such as painting, reading, and listening to music. The biggest inspiration in her life is her parents.
According to Divita, Miss Universe pageant is always pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a woman in the 21st century. This was the reason Divita gave the pageant another try this year.
“A lot of us have a perception that women should have long hair, they should have a certain type of look and body. But with each winner, I feel we are trying to dispel or break those stereotypes. I feel one should just have a good heart, good intentions and a goal-oriented mindset. If you can do that and have confidence in yourself, you can represent yourself and your country beautifully. And that is the conversation that we need to have more – that beauty is not just limited to a certain number of people. It’s what you feel from inside, what you say and and the impact it makes, that matters”, she quoted in a recent interview.
Divita also aims to make education accessible for all which is also her advocacy. She wants girls, especially, to be educated because it can give them the confidence to take their life and destiny in their own hands, on their own terms.
Divita also preaches a healthy and positive mindset along with healthy lifestyle. “I am someone who suffers from PCOS, and it is something very common. One out of 5 women face the condition, and it has been definitely a challenge to navigate that. I have to exercise and have a healthy diet, to curb my PCOS from aggravating”, she quoted. Divita is definitely an inspiration for young girls who wish to follow in her footsteps. If she wins the Miss Universe 2022 crown, Divita will score a back to back win at Miss Universe for India.
