The 22nd edition of Miss Earth is all set to be held tonight at the Okada Manila in Parañaque, Metro Manila, Philippines where Miss Earth 2021 Destiny Wagner of Belize will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.

While the finale will see outstanding performances from the delegates all over the world, Colombian beauty Andrea Aguilera stands to finally pioneer her country’s win at Miss Earth this year. Andrea has already made it to almost every Miss Earth hot picks list this year.

Andrea Aguilera Arroyave was appointed Miss Earth Colombia 2022 on Saturday, 10th September 2022 as she began to prepare for her journey at Miss Earth 2022. Andrea Aguilera is 25 years of age and hails from Medellín. She is a social communicator and journalist who holds a degree in journalism, neurolinguistic programming, and a specialization in early childhood care. Andrea has also worked as a TV presenter, professional model, and soprano singer.

At the pre-pageant activities, she won Darling of the Press in the Americas category, gold medal at the swimsuit competition, gold medal in the fire group at the beach wear competition, bronze medal in the fire group at the long gown competition, Miss Photogenic and Best in Swimwear from fire group as well.

As for her advocacy, Andrea works with Fundación Botellas de Amor (Bottles of Love Foundation), an organization that transforms bottles full of recycled plastic into material for building houses and recreational parks for underprivileged children and their families. She also supports initiatives aiming to reduce chronic malnutrition and promotes development through nutritional treatments and comprehensive support programs.

If Andrea wins Miss Earth 2022 crown, she will be the first ever Colombian to win the Miss Earth crown. She definitely has the personality, looks and the confidence to win the crown. No stranger to pageantry, Andrea was also crowned Miss Mundo Colombia and went on to compete in the 70th Miss World pageant held in Puerto Rico. At the end of the event finale, she placed in the Top 12.

Colombia’s performance at Miss Earth has been incredible in the recent years, falling just short of winning the Miss Earth crown. From 2014 until 2021, Colombia has placed every year at Miss Earth barring 2020. The highest placement Colombia won was in 2016 where Michelle Alejandra Gómez Bustos competed at Miss Earth 2016 and placed as the first runner-up (Miss Earth-Air 2016).
