Miss Earth Colombia organization, through their official social media, announced the appointment of Andrea Aguilera Arroyave as Miss Earth Colombia 2022 who is now preparing to represent Colombia at Miss Earth 2022. The announcement was made on Saturday, 10th September 2022.

Andrea Aguilera is 25 years of age and hails from Medellín. She is a social communicator and journalist who holds a degree in journalism, neurolinguistic programming, and a specialization in early childhood care. Andrea has also worked as a TV presenter, professional model, and soprano singer.

As for her advocacy, Andrea works with Fundación Botellas de Amor (Bottles of Love Foundation), an organization that transforms bottles full of recycled plastic into material for building houses and recreational parks for underprivileged children and their families. She also supports initiatives aiming to reduce chronic malnutrition and promotes development through nutritional treatments and comprehensive support programs.

"We are sure that our 'eco delegate' will be able to comply with the values ??that characterize our organization, the environmental work that entails being our ambassador, spokesperson, and leader, in addition to representing Colombia the best way internationally," Andrea quoted.

No stranger to pageantry, the newly appointed Miss Earth Colombia was crowned Miss Mundo Colombia and went on to compete in the 70th Miss World pageant held in Puerto Rico. At the end of the event finale, she placed in the Top 12.

Colombia has yet to win the Miss Earth pageant. The country's highest placement was in 2016 with Michelle Gómez who finished in the Top 4 and bagged the Miss Earth - Air title.
