Cristina Mariel appointed Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2021

Miss Earth Puerto Rico organization appointed Cristina Mariel as the new Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2021 just few hours ago and she will represent Puerto Rico at Miss Earth 2021. She replaced Valerie Vigoreaux Corte´s for the title after the organization and diva, were not able to finalize a formal agreement on the latter's representation at the international contest.

Cristina represented San Sebastián at Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2021 competition and was crowned Miss Earth Water Puerto Rico 2021 at the end of the event finale. The organization announced her appointment via their official social media account; “Puerto Rico has a new queen who will raise our flag high. It is Cristina Mariel who today becomes our representative to the international Miss Earth pageant. Since its inception Miss Earth Puerto Rico has positioned itself in an extraordinary way in the international pageant and we have no doubt that this time it will not be the exception.”

 

 

The diva is 19-years-old and is a student of Environmental Technology with her concentration towards Environmental Chemistry. She has a vocational certification in Animal Health and Horticulture and a former president of the national organization Futuros Agricultores de América. Cristina is the founder of Eco Amigos Puerto Rico since 2019 that aims to educate the young people in Puerto Rico about the environmental conditions. She also volunteers at CoCoPR organization where she works on a project to reproduce difficult-to-germinate coastal species.

She will be giving a leadership, reforestation, and clean-up workshop to the Future Farmers of America (FFA) organization on 23rd February 2021. She will participate in cleaning and reforestation event in Isabela on 6th February 2021.

 

 

Cristina took to her social media to share the news along with her gratitude towards the organization, she mentioned, “Excited and grateful! I am the new Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2021. Thank you all for your support from day one, I promise to carry the name of my beautiful island up high. From San Sebastián to the world! Thanks to each one for their support, now to represent my beautiful island with dignity and carry it high.”

The organization strongly believes that the newly appointed queen has a keen understanding and deep commitment towards promoting the care of the natural resources in the country and has already begun her preparation for the international contest. She is strong, experienced, and focused towards her goals in life and with her determination Puerto Rico could bring the crown back home.
