The organization of Miss Earth Puerto Rico held the second gala for Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2021 with an intimate production, in compliance with the parameters established by the Department of Health to avoid contagion of COVID-19. Valerie Vigoreaux Corte´s was crowned as the winner at the end of the event finale and is going to represent Puerto Rico at Miss Earth 2021. She has succeeded Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2020 Krystal Badillo for the title. Krystal Badillo will represent the country in the coming few days at the grand finale of Miss Earth 2020.

The representative of the people of San Juan, Valerie Vigoreaux is the daughter of former senator and television presenter Roberto Vigoreaux. She is 27-years-old and pre-veterinary student and model. She is excited to take over the crown duties as Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2021 and start preparing for the beauty pageant in the coming time.

Valerie impressed everyone with her strong performance at the competition and was able to secure the crown for herself. After being crowned as Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2021, Valerie took to the social media and thanked everyone for the title. She stated, “Years ago I dreamed it, I never dared for an endless number of reasons and fears that stopped my desire to call myself Puerto Rico. Until I understood that only I will be responsible for following my heart, fighting, and sacrificing for what I want. Thank you for everything and therefore, your Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2021.”

The diva is strong, confident, and feels focused towards her goal that is to start preparing for the Miss Earth 2021 competition and carry out her crown duties in the best way possible. She also mentioned, “Never underestimate yourself, do not stop doing what you wish for what they will say, because doing it well or badly they will always speak. Believe in yourself, fight for the goal and you will achieve it.”

Valerie advocates about recycling as she believes that it conserves natural resources, protects eco-system and wildlife. Recycling reduces the need to grow, harvest or extract new raw materials from the Earth. She explained the more you recycle, and the less you put in the bin, the more money is saved, which should be good for households, businesses, and local public services. She would use the platform with purpose of raising awareness with the abusive use of plastic.

The diva lastly added, “Environmental awareness is a necessary learning. Do not turn around, observe what happens around you with water, forests, air pollution and keep your ears attentive to the messages that nature sends us.” The diva is strong, confident, and determined and is hopeful that just like Miss Earth 2019 Nellys Pimentel she will be able to make the people of Puerto Rico proud.

Congratulations!
