Miss Earth : Info

Miss Earth is an annual beauty pageant aimed at promoting environmental awareness. Carousel Productions organized and launched the first Miss Earth beauty pageant in 2001 to actively promote the preservation of the environment. Miss Earth is considered as one of the big four international pageants. The winner of the Miss Earth Beauty pageant titled Miss Earth and the runners-up are given titles named after the other classical elements of life i.e. Miss Earth Air, Miss Earth Water and Miss Earth Fire.

Since its inception, Miss Earth pageant has been held annually in the Philippines except in the year 2010 (Vietnam) and in the year 2015 (Austria).

Miss Earth 2020

Miss Earth 2020, the 20th edition of Miss Earth, was held on 29th November 2020 where Miss Earth 2019 Nellys Pimentel of Puerto Rico was succeeded by Lindsey Coffey of the United States at the end of the event finale. Miss Earth 2020 was the first ever virtual major beauty pageant. This marked the first time a delegate representing the United States won Miss Earth, becoming the fourth country to win all the Big Four international beauty pageants at least once.

Stephany Zreik of Venezuela won Miss Earth Air, Roxanne Allison Baeyens of the Philippines as Miss Earth Water, and Michala Rubinstein of Denmark as Miss Earth Fire and formed the elemental court. Brittany Dickson of Australia, the brain cancer survivor, received the Eco Angel Special Award which is the equivalent of Beauty for a Cause award.

Miss Earth 2019

Nellys Pimentel of Puerto Rico was crowned Miss Earth 2019 at the finale held on 26th October 2019 at Okada Manila in Parañaque City, Philippines. Elemental queens were Miss Earth-Air 2019 Emanii Davis from USA, Miss Earth-Water 2019 Klára Vavrušková from Czech Republic, Miss Earth-Fire 2019 Alisa Manyonok from Belarus. Puerto Rico made history by winning the first Miss Earth crown and also became the first territory to win at least once in all of the Big Four international beauty pageants.

 

Miss Earth 2018

Nguyen Phuong Khanh of Vietnam was crowned Miss Earth 2018 at the finale held on 3rd November 2018 at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. Elemental queens were Melanie Mader of Austria (Miss Earth Air 2018), Valeria Ayos of Colombia (Miss Earth Water 2018) and Melissa Flores of Mexico (Miss Earth Fire 2018).

 

Miss Earth 2017

Miss Earth 2017 finale was held in Philippines on 4th November 2017 and was won by Karen Ibasco of Philippines. Elemental queens were Nina Robertson of Australia (Miss Earth Air 2017), Juliana Franco of Colombia (Miss Earth Water 2017) and Lada Akimova of Russia (Miss Earth Fire 2017).

 

Miss Earth 2016

Katherine Elizabeth Espín Gómez of Ecuador was crowned Miss Earth 2016 at the finale held on 29th October 2016. Michelle Gómez of Colombia, Stephanie de Zorzi of Venezuela and Bruna Zanardo of Brazil won the titles of Miss Earth Air 2016, Miss Earth Water 2016 and Miss Earth Fire 2016 respectively. Bruna Zanardo was subsequently dethroned and her title was assumed by Corrin Stellakis of United States of America.

 

Miss Earth 2015

Angelia Ong of Philippines was crowned as Miss Earth 2015 on 5th December 2015 at the finale held in Austria. Dayanna Grageda of Australia, Brittany Payne of USA and Thiessa Sickert of Brazil won the titles of Miss Earth Air 2015, Miss Earth Water 2015 and Miss Earth Fire 2015 respectively.

 

Miss Earth 2014

Jamie Herrell of Philippines was crowned as Miss Earth 2014 on 29th November 2014 at the finale held in Philippines. Andrea Neu of USA, Maira Rodríguez of Venezuela and Anastasia Trusova of Russia won the titles of Miss Earth Air 2014, Miss Earth Water 2014 and Miss Earth Fire 2014 respectively.

 

Miss Earth 2013

Alyz Henrich of Venezuela was crowned as Miss Earth 2013 on 7th December 2013 at the finale held in Philippines. Katia Wagner of Austria, Punika Kulsoontornrut of Thailand and Catharina Choi of South Korea won the titles of Miss Earth Air 2013, Miss Earth Water 2013 and Miss Earth Fire 2013 respectively. Punika Kulsoontornrut was subsequently dethroned.

 

Miss Earth 2012

Tereza Fajksová of Czech Republic was crowned Miss Earth 2012 at the finale held on 24th November 2012 at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa, Philippines. Miss Earth Air 2012 was Stephany Stefanowitz of the Philippines, Miss Earth Water 2012 was Osmariel Villalobos of Venezuela and Miss Earth Fire 2012 was Camila Brant of Brazil.

 

Miss Earth 2011

Olga Álava of Ecuador was crowned Miss Earth 2011 at the finale held on 3rd December 2011 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Philippines. The elemental titles were awarded to Driely Bennettone of Brazil (Miss Earth Air 2011), Athena Imperial of the Philippines (Miss Earth Water 2011), and Caroline Medina of Venezuela (Miss Earth Fire 2011).

 

Miss Earth 2010

Nicole Faria of India was crowned Miss Earth 2010 at the finale held on 4th December 2010 at the Vinpearl Land in Nha Trang, Vietnam. It was second time in the history of Miss Earth that the pageant was held outside the Philippines, and Nicole became the first Indian to be crowned Miss Earth. Elemental titles were won by Jennifer Pazmiño of Ecuador (Miss Earth Air 2010), Watsaporn Wattanakoon of Thailand (Miss Earth Water 2010) and Yeidy Bosques of Puerto Rico (Miss Earth Fire 2010). Later, Jennifer Pazmiño resigned from her title and the Miss Earth Air 2010 title was assumed by Victoria Shchukina of Russia.

 

Miss Earth 2009

Larissa Ramos of Brazil was crowned Miss Earth 2009 held on 22nd November 2009 at the Boracay Ecovillage Resort and Convention Center in Boracay, Philippines. Elemental titles were won by Sandra Seifert of the Philippines (Miss Earth Air 2009), Jessica Barboza of Venezuela (Miss Earth Water 2009) and Alejandra Echevarria of Spain (Miss Earth Fire 2009).

 

Miss Earth 2008

Karla Henry of the Philippines was crowned Miss Earth 2008 held on 9th November 2008 at the Clark Expo Amphitheater in Angeles, Pampanga, Philippines. The elemental titles were awarded to Miriam Odemba of Tanzania (Miss Earth Air 2008), Abigail Elizalde of Mexico (Miss Earth Water 2008), and Tatiane Alves of Brazil (Miss Earth Fire 2008).

 

Miss Earth 2007

Jessica Trisko from Canada won the title of Miss Earth 2007 at the finale of the pageant held on 11th November 2007 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Philippines. Miss Earth Air 2007 was Pooja Chitgopekar (India), Miss Earth Water 2007 was Silvana Santaella (Venezuela) and Miss Earth Fire 2007 was Ángela Gómez (Spain).

 

Miss Earth 2006

Miss Earth 2006 was held on 26th November 2006 at the grounds of the National Museum in Manila, Philippines, and at the conclusion of the event, Hil Hernández of Chile was crowned the winner. Her court included Amruta Patki of India (Miss Earth Air 2006), Catherine Untalan of the Philippines (Miss Earth Water 2006) and Marianne Puglia of Venezuela (Miss Earth Fire 2006).

 

Miss Earth 2005

Alexandra Braun of Venezuela was crowned Miss Earth 2005 at the finale of the pageant held on 23rd October 2005 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Philippines. With her crowning, Venezuela became the second country to win all the four major international pageants. Her court included Amell Santana of Dominican Republic (Miss Earth Air 2005), Katarzyna Borowicz of Poland (Miss Earth Water 2005) and Jovana Marjanovic of Serbia & Montenegro (Miss Earth Fire 2005).

 

Miss Earth 2004

Priscilla Meirelles of Brazil was crowned Miss Earth 2004 at the finale of the fourth edition of Miss Earth pageant which took place on 24th October 2004 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Philippines. With her crowning, Brazil became the first country to win all the four major international pageants. Murielle Celimene of Martinique was crowned Miss Earth Air 2004, Kahaya Lusazh of Tahiti was crowned Miss Earth Water 2004 and Yanina González of Paraguay was crowned Miss Earth Fire 2004.

 

Miss Earth 2003

Dania Prince of Honduras was crowned Miss Earth 2003 at the finale of the third edition of Miss Earth pageant which took place on 9th November 2003 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Philippines. Her court included Priscila Poleselo Zandoná of Brazil (Miss Earth Air 2003), Marianela Zeledón Bolaños of Costa Rica (Miss Earth Water 2003) and Marta Matyjasik of Poland (Miss Earth Fire 2003).

 

Miss Earth 2002

Miss Earth 2002, the second edition of Miss Earth pageant, which was held at Folk Arts Theater in Pasay, Philippines on 29th October 2002, concluded with the crowning of Džejla Glavovic of Bosnia & Herzegovina as Miss Earth 2002. However, she was subsequently dethroned and the title was assumed by the runner-up and Miss Earth Air 2002, Winfred Adah Omwakwe of Kenya. As a result of the dethronement, Sladjana Bozovic of Yugoslavia (originally crowned Miss Earth Water 2002) became Miss Earth Air 2002, Juliana Patricia Drossou of Greece (originally crowned Miss Earth Fire 2002) became Miss Earth Water 2002 and Elina Hurve of Finland became Miss Earth Fire 2002.

 

Miss Earth 2001

Catharina Svensson of Denmark was crowned Miss Earth 2001 at the inaugural edition of the Miss Earth pageant held on 28th October 2001 at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Philippines. Elemental queens were Simone Régis of Brazil (Miss Earth Wind 2001), Margarita Kravtsova of Kazakhstan (Miss Earth Water 2001) and Daniela Stucan of Argentina (Miss Earth Fire 2001).
