With the coronavirus pandemic and the advance of Miss Grand International 2021 to coming October, the CNB organization decided to postpone the national competition to the beginning of 2022, with the winner being elected Miss Grand Brazil 2022 and nominating the Miss Grand Brazil 2021.
Lorena Rodrigues, a journalist from Juiz de For a has been chosen to represent Brazil in the 2021 edition of the Miss Grand International and was crowned in Ouro Preto by the outgoing queen, Lala Guedes Miss Grand Brazil 2020, who also ended up at the fifth place in the Miss Grand International 2020.
Lorena is 26 years old and has a degree in Journalism from the Juiz de Fora Higher Education Center and in Design Arts from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. Not new to the world of pageantry, she was placed among the Top 11 in the National Beauty Contest 2017 and secured the third place at Miss Grand Brazil 2019. She was also ranked third at Miss Global Beauty 2017, in South Korea, and vice Miss Friendship, in China, in 2019.
During the intimate crowning ceremony, Marina Fontes, director of the CNB shared, “We've always liked Lorena a lot for her intelligence, great oratory and personality. Beauty, not to mention, it has plenty! We had a range of wonderful options, ready-made and integral women, but Lorena has a special spark, a lot of experience and, after long conversations, she was the one we chose.”
Lorena is the first Miss Brazil for a Grand Slam beauty contest with short hair and is already being prepared to compete in Miss Grand International 2021, in October. In the last eight editions of Miss Grand International, Brazil has excelled with a total of seven representatives advancing to the next round and in the previous two editions with Marjorie Marcelle in 2019 and Lala Guedes in 2020, the country reached the Top 5.
Lorena is a woman with a strong personality, has excellent speaking skills, walks the runway beautifully, is fluent in English and has a lot of will power. She is experienced as she has already represented Brazil in two international competitions and has participated in two CNB competitions, always achieving excellent results. She is definitely one of the strongest choices to fill in the shoes of her amazing forerunners to represent Brazil at one of the most valued stages in the pageant industry.
