Kelly van den Dungen crowned as Miss Grand Netherlands 2017

The magnificent finale of Miss Grand Netherlands 2017, held on 26th March 2017, concluded with the crowning of 23 year old Kelly van den Dungen. Kelly succeeds Miss Grand Netherlands 2016 Floor Masselink, and will now represent Netherlands at the Miss Grand International 2017 pageant to be held in the month of October.

Kelly is currently studying media information and communication in Amsterdam and works for the television producing company, Talpa. She is also an acrobatic gymnastics champion which she won in the 2012. Kelly is not new to the world of pageantry, and was one of the runner-ups at the Miss Progress 2015 pageant. She won the title of Miss Progress Environment. At the Miss Netherlands 2016 competition, she was adjudged 2nd runner-up. Kelly was also one of the finalists for Miss World Netherlands 2016.

At the same pageant, Bente Vrieling was adjudged the first runner-up and Laura Ghobrial finished as the second runner-up. Miss Grand Netherlands is an annual national beauty pageant held in Netherlands that selects representatives for the Miss Grand International pageant. The pageant comes under the franchise of “12 Months of Beauty”, which is run by Robin and Stefan, the national directors. The official candidates this year were selected after undergoing an intense casting and the finalists were judged by the juries on the basis of their catwalk, dance, vocal pitch and interviews.
