The gala finale of Miss Cayman Islands 2017 held on 25th March 2017, concluded with the crowning of Anika Conolly as the winner. Anika Conolly succeeds Miss Cayman Islands 2016 Monyque Brooks, and will now represent the country at the Miss Universe 2017 and Miss World 2017 pageant to be held later this year.
26 year old Anika Conolly hails from West Bay. Anika is a Chamber of Commerce Mentor, Vacation Bible School Coordinator, and from 9-5pm she is a Talent Acquisition Specialist at CUC. This multi talented beauty has been a favourite for the crown since the beginning.
At the same pageant, Kristin Amaya was titled as the first runner-up. 24 year old Kristin Amaya hailing from George Town has 1 more year until she completes a bachelors degree in Business Management. She is an aspiring entrepreneur. Mahaila Seymour was adjudged the second runner-up. 22 year old Mahalia Seymour hailing from George Town district currently works at the Da Vinci Centre where she explores holistic wellness which helps individuals live longer and happier lives.
In addition to winning the title, Anika also received a crown, sash, trophy, $70,000 three-year educational scholarship, a free round-trip ticket, one year free fibre optic service, jewelry, cash, several gift certificates, manicure and pedicure, a new wardrobe, free training sessions and a free cruise trip among many more prizes.
In addition to announcing the winner and the runners-up, a series of Special Awards were also awarded to the following contestants under the categories –

Best in Gown: Anika Conolly
People’s Choice: Kristin Amaya
Miss Congeniality: Mahaila Seymour

The Miss Cayman Islands organization believes that the pageant is one of many traditions that helps showcase the national pride of the country and ever since its establishment, has acutely advanced into a powerful organisation.
