Miss India 2018 Top 5 Hot Picks Evening Gown

21 Jun 2018 | Irina Silva

Miss India 2018 pageant concluded with the crowning of the new Miss India 2018 Anukreethy Vas. While the coronation was a spectacle in itself, there moments that made it even special. Be it the performances by Bollywood’s darlings, or Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar shaking a leg in tribute to Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra, the event was filled with highlights.

One such highlight was the evening gown round of the pageant. The 30 finalists of Miss India 2018 walked out in stunning gowns, some more than others, and the fusion of indo-western gowns made the stage glitter. The gowns were designed by the popular designer Gaurav Gupta and many were styled in the way of a saree.

However there were a few gowns that stood out, and made our eyes pop. The intricate design was not the only eye catching element of the gown. The complete styling of the contestant was taken into consideration before finally deciding which ones we really loved.

Here are our Top 5 Hot Picks of finalists from the evening gown round of Miss India 2018.

Parmila Chhetri

Parmila truly wore a colour to compliment her beautiful complexion. He gown was the right amount of body hugging and the cut outs at the waist were the right size to keep the dress classy, and not trashy. The dainty jewellery kept the look minimalistic and we loved that about it.

Spandana Palli

Spandana had the most different dress of all, and the risk she took with it definitely paid off as the dress added to her curves, and made her look a more rounded figure. The vortex design also helped accentuate the beauty queen’s height which was one of her stronger suits in the competition.

Prarthana Sarkar

Prarthana went for a classic modern pageant gown. The mermaid tail and the beading is the sign of the typical pageant gown, but, what we really liked is the grace that Prarthana carried it with. Her danglers and the loose bracelet mad us nostalgic of the elegant former beauty queens from the country.

Sai Kamakshi Bhaskarla

While many saree fusion gowns on the finale failed to catch the essence of the fusion, Kamakshi’s gown was the right ratio of both western and Indian. It was chic, and still gave off a very classy and sexy vibe.

Aashna Gurav

Aashna chose to go with a modern ball gown cut, which could be called a safe choice in the pageant world. However, the asymmetrical cuts in the skirt of the gown make it so much more than that. Even the colour seemed just right for the beauty queen’s complexion.
