Anukreethy Vas crowned Miss India 2018

The finale night of Miss India 2018 pageant concluded at the Dome, Nsci SVP Stadium, Mumbai. The show was filled with glitz and glamour, with Bollywood celebrities performing and judging the show.

Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar passed on her crown as Miss India 2017 to Anukreethy Vas, representing Tamilnadu, at the conclusion of the coronation gala. She will now represent India at the Miss World 2018 pageant as Miss India 2018.

Anukreethy Vas was raised by a single mother with the words, “Nothing can dim the light that shines from within,” as life’s motto. The 19 year old is pursuing BA in French to become a translator to fulfill her mother’s wishes. ANukreethy  completed her schooling from RSK Higher Secondary School and went to college at Loyola college.

Though she is still a student, Anukreethy also works as a model, and an actor. She is a state level athlete, and loves riding bikes as well. One of her purposes in life is to enlighten and bring young souls forward with their dreams and help them get a vision. As a French learner, Anukreethy desires to learn different languages from across the world to increase her intellect.

At the same event Meenakshi Chaudhary (Haryana) was crowned Miss Grand India 2018, and Shreya Rao Kamavarapu (Andhra Pradesh) was crowned Miss Intercontinental India 2018. They will now represent India at the Miss Grand International 2018 and Miss Intercontinental 2018 pageants respectively.

Bollywood divas, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Kareena Kapor Khan performed live at the finale, and Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar was seen joining Jacqueline on stage as well. The finale was full of pizzazz as Ayushman Khurrana and Karan Johar hosted the event.

The finalists performed beautifully for the talent round, after which the Top 12 finalists were announced. The Top 12 finalists were Andhra Pradesh - Shreya Rao Kamavarapu, Chhattisgarh - Spandana Palli, Delhi - Gayatri Bhardwaj, Haryana - Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jharkhand - Stefy Patel, Karnataka - Bhavana Durgam Reddy, Manipur - Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, Meghalaya - Mary Khyriem, Mizoram - Lily Lalremkimi Darnei, Odisha- Shrutiksha Nayak, Punjab - Anna Kler, and Tamilnadu - Anukreethy Vas.
