Miss New Mexico USA organization held the 2021 edition on 15th August 2021 at Hotel Encanto in Las Cruces where Christa Schafer was crowned Miss New Mexico USA 2021 and will represent her state at Miss USA 2021. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss New Mexico USA 2020 Cecilia Rodriguez.

Christa Schafer currently resides in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She graduated from Coronado High School in Gallina, New Mexico. Not new to the pageantry, Schafer was Miss El Paso 2017 and also competed at Miss Texas USA 2020 and finished in the Top 19. Christa is currently 26 years of age.

The newly crowned Miss New Mexico USA 2021 Christa Schafer’s court included –

1st Runner-up – Ayana Pai

2nd Runner-up – Elizabeth Nelson

3rd Runner-up – Dominique Ehrl

4th Runner-up – Sapphire Persinger

Apart from the winner and her court, the Top 15 included Bianca Wright, Morgan Soleman, Jacqueline Pina, Gabrielle Montoya, Abigail Hills, Sofia Fierro, Britney Ebert, Rica Charleston, Brooke Ayala, Rena Aragon.

Along with the crowing of Miss New Mexico USA 2021, Emily Lehr was crowned Miss New Mexico Teen USA 2021 as she became the official representative of New Mexico at Miss Teen USA 2021. Her court includes Jade Vargas, Caroline Babcock, Katherine Smith and Brooke Freilino who were adjudged first, second, third and fourth runners-up respectively.

Christa Schafer will now represent New Mexico at Miss USA 2021 at the Paradise Cove Theater of River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA on 29th November 2021. If she wins, she will be the second Miss New Mexico USA to represent the U.S. in Miss Universe following Mai Shanley, who finished in the Top 10 at Miss Universe 1984.
