Valeria Vazquez Latorre crowned Miss Supranational 2018

At the conclusion of the grand coronation night of Miss Supranational 2018 held tonight in Krynica-Zdroj, Malopolska Poland, Valeria Vazquez Latorre representing Puerto Rico was crowned the new queen by the outgoing Miss Supranational 2017 Jenny Kim. Celebrating the 10th edition of Miss Supranational, the finale witnessed quite a lot of past highlights and impressive performances from all the delegates.

Valeria Vazquez Latorre, the 24-year-old beauty is studying Medical Technology at the University of Puerto Rico’s Medical Science Campus. She stands a whopping 179 cm tall and performed exceedingly well at the competition. At the question and answer round as well, she was the most eloquent in her reply. Valeria was a part of our Top 10 favourite contestants for the crown as well. The newly crowned queen’s court included –

1st Runner-Up – Katrina Jayne Dimaranan (USA)

2nd Runner-Up – Magdalena Bienkowska (Poland)

3rd Runner-Up – Wilda Octaviana Situngkir (Indonesia)

4th Runner-Up – Diana Romero Ortega (Mexico)

The finale began with all the seventy-two contestants performing a dance number in their gorgeous one-piece dresses as the organization celebrated its tenth edition. The panel of the jury was also quite extraordinary this year as it has never happened in beauty pageant history; former Miss Supranational winners were the VVIP guests and also decided the crowning of this year’s winner along with the head of Miss Supranational Organization.

As the contestants were introduced in the National Costumes, the award was not handed to one but nine delegates this year as a celebration of the anniversary year! Here are the nine winners of Best National Costume which were handpicked by the nine jury members as each declared their favourite - Diana Romero Ortega (Mexico), Guzaliya Izmailova (Russia), Eunbi Lee (Korea), Minh Tu Nguyen (Vietnam), Stephanie Ogaldez Ramos (Guatemala), Santhany Saymanyvanh (Laos), Wilda Octaviana Situngkir (Indonesia), Keythlin Aleman (Panama) and Mideline Phelizor (Haiti).

The Top 25 were then announced as follows - Maddison-Clare Sloane (Australia), Margarita Martynova (Belarus), Bárbara Reis (Brazil), Mimi Carranza (Colombia), Celina West Riel (Denmark), Maria Lucrecia Nve Maleva (Equatorial Guinea), Aditi Hundia (India),Wilda Octaviana Situngkir (Indonesia), Sanjna Suri (Malaysia), Marie Anoushka Ah Keng (mauritius), Diana Romero Ortega (Mexico), Shwe Eain Si (Myanmar), Kelly Van Den Dungen (Netherlands), Daniella Orumwense (Nigeria), Anzhelika Tahir (Pakistan), Jehza Mae Huelar (Philippines), Magdalena Bienkowska (Poland), Valeria Vázquez Latorre (Puerto Rico), Andrea Maria Coman (Romania), Guzaliya Izmailova (Russia), Katarína Ocovanová (Slovakia), Snizhana Tanchuk (Ukraine), Katrina Jayne Dimaranan (USA), Nariman Cristina Battikha Yanyi (Venezuela), Minh Tú Nguyen (Vietnam).

As the contestants then moved on to the Swimsuit round, they were a sight to behold strutting the stage in their gorgeous outfits and looking ever so beautiful. The dance sequence that followed along with innumerable performances by the well-known artists in intervals made the audience quite happy.

The Top 10 countries were then announced who made it to the next round of the competition and presented their advocacies – USA, Romania, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Indonesia, Poland, Mexico, Vietnam, Philippines and Venezuela. The Top 5 was announced out of them who they were crowned as the court of the winner, Puerto Rico.
