The finale of Miss Thailand World 2023 was held on Sunday, 1st October 2023 at the Palladium Hall of The Berkeley Hotel Pratunam in Bangkok, Thailand where Tharina Botes was crowned the new queen as she became the official representative of Thailand at Miss World 2023. It was finally the moment for the Thai-South African beauty queen and model who won the audience’s and jury’s hearts with her strong performance and perseverance. Botes is 26 years of age and hails from Phuket.
Tharina holds a degree in commerce and economics from the University of South Africa. Tharina’s pageantry experience is extensive; she represented South Africa at Miss International 2016, she was Top 12 at Miss South Africa 2018, Top 10 at Miss Grand Thailand 2019, and first runner-up at Miss Universe Thailand 2021.
On winning the national crown, Tharina took to her official social media as she wrote, “Dreams do come true. Never stop chasing what’s in your heart. I can’t believe I’ll be representing Thailand at @missworld. To everyone, all my friends, family and fans. Thank you for always being here by my side since day one. We finally did it. To my team Phuket thank you for always believing in me.”
The newly crowned Miss Thailand World 2023 Tharina Botes’ court included –
1st Runner-up – Warangkhana Sirisathaphornsap
2nd Runner-up – Ploiwarin Saenchai
Top 5 finalists also included Chotnapa Kaewjarun and Chaba Jumsai Na Ayudhya while Top 10 semi-finalists also included Phitchawan Promthan, Melanie Flay, Supassara Supanya, Krongthong Chantarasompoch, and Prima Boonyavej.
As for her humanitarian project, Tharina has her own project called "Good Guardians, The Uplifting Project" where she helps the needy people by feeding families and providing school scholarships for children. Tharina is also an ambassador for the food rescue foundation Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) which rescues and redistributes nutritious surplus food to vulnerable communities.
Miss World 2023, the 71st edition of Miss World, will be held at India International Convention and Expo Centre, New Delhi, India on 16th December 2023 where Karolina Bielawska of Poland will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
