Miss USA 2016 ignites controversy on asking the contestant her Presidential Choice

The Miss USA 2016 finale has finally culminated and District of Columbia’s representative Desgauna Barber has been crowned as the winner. The 3 hours long finale of Miss USA 2016 was a gala night with 52 beauties of USA competing for the prestigious crown of Miss USA 2016.

Controversy is the new trend for Miss Universe/ USA pageant it looks like. Everybody is aware of the Steve Harvery controversy of Miss Universe 2015, the Miss USA 2016 pageant has given us a new controversy to remember till the time Miss Universe 2016 happens. Donald Trump may no longer be a part of the Organisation, but it looks like his presence is still very much there. Yes, you got it right!! We are talking about the Question that was an eyebrow raiser question of the Miss USA 2016 finale night.

During the Top 5 Question and Answer Round of Miss USA 2016, Harper’s Bazaar Executive Editor Laura Brown asked a Question to Miss Hawaii Chelsea Hardin that created a hullabaloo among the masses and on Social Media. The Question was; “With Hillary Clinton expected to surpass the delegate count needed to win the Democratic Party nomination, my question to you is : If the election were held tomorrow, would you vote Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump for President and why would you chose one over the other?

Before Lauran could even finish the question, the whole auditorium clattered with boohoos from the audience. The pageant officials quickly noted the inquiry was written by the Miss USA Organisation.

Miss Hawaii Chelsea Hardin was also surprised by the question and jokingly said, “I would get that, right?” However, the beauty queen was intelligent enough to answer the question with grace and without creating any further chaos or controversy on the matter. Her answer was; “All I have to say.... It doesn’t matter what gender. What we need in the United States is someone who represents those of us who feel like we don’t have a voice. Those of us who want our voices heard. We need a President who will push for what is right and who will push for what America really needs. Thank you.

Chelsea might have managed to diplomatically pull herself out of any further hullabaloo, but the question didn’t really go well with the masses, and twitter was flooded with Tweets about the same...

After the Q&A competition when the pageant returned from a commercial break, co-host Terrence Jenkins agreed how controversial the question was, and reiterated that it was the Miss USA Organization that had composed it.

It seems like the Miss USA and Miss Universe Organisation is actually enjoying the attention all these controversial statements and acts are bringing to them. Well, all we can do is to wait and see how further this one is going to go!! What is your take on the whole controversial question?
