Miss Universe 2021 Meet the Selection Committee

As the competition approaches its last leg, the delegates of Miss Universe 2021 have completed their closed-door interviews and are now preparing for their preliminary competitions. While the Miss Universe organization had us all guessing about the judges for the 70th edition, they have finally put a halt to the guesstimates as they recently announced the official members of the selection committee for this year’s production.

 

 

So, without any further ado, here are the official judges of Miss Universe 2021 –

Adriana Lima

Adriana is a Brazilian model and actress, best known as a Victoria's Secret Angel from 1999 to 2018. She was the longest-running model and named the ‘most valuable Victoria's Secret Angel’ in 2017. She is also known as a spokes model for Maybelline cosmetics since 2003, and for her Super Bowl and Kia Motors commercials. Lima is currently ranked by models.com as one of the ‘New Supers’. Since 2014, Lima has been the world's second highest-paid model.

Lima has served as brand ambassador for the clothing brand Desigual based in Barcelona, Spain, for the Beachwear collection of Italian brand Calzedonia, and for the ready-to-wear collection of Italian brand Sportmax. She is currently an ambassador for IWC, Puma, Maybelline, and Chopard.

Urvashi Rautela

Urvashi Rautela is an Indian actress and model who appears in Bollywood films. She was crowned Miss Diva Universe 2015 and represented India at the Miss Universe 2015 pageant. Rautela got her first major break at age 15 in Wills lifestyle India Fashion Week. She also won the title of Miss Teen India 2009. In 2011, Rautela won Indian Princess 2011, Miss Tourism World 2011, and Miss Asian Supermodel 2011. She also won the title of Miss Tourism Queen of the Year 2011 that was held in China and became the first Indian woman to win the pageant.

She was named as the Youngest Most Beautiful Woman in the Universe 2018 by the government and tourism of Andaman & Nicobar Islands and won the Uttrakhand Maharatna Award from the chief minister of Uttrakhand. She is currently earned a big name in the Indian film industry and has now become the youngest judge to be a part of the Miss Universe selection committee.

Lori Harvey

Model Lori Harvey was born in Memphis, Tennessee and grew up in both Atlanta and Chicago. Harvey's modeling career began at the ripe-old age of three, and she's currently signed to both LA Models and Select Models agencies. She's walked runways for Dolce & Gabbana, starred in a 2018 Pat McGrath Lab beauty campaign, and has also modeled for top designers such as Chanel, Calvin Klein, and more.

The diva will be accompanied by her step-father Steve Harvey who will be making a comeback as a host of the competition, returning for the sixth time. "I am so excited to be on the selection committee for the 70th Annual Miss Universe competition. It's extra special to me because this is the first event that my dad and I have worked on together, so it's going to be a really great time," says Lori.

Iris Mittenaere

French model, television host, and beauty pageant titleholder, Iris Mittenaere was crowned Miss Universe 2016. She is the second Miss Universe from France after Christiane Martel, who was elected Miss Universe 1953. Mittenaere had previously been crowned Miss France 2016 and Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais 2015.

During her reign as Miss Universe, Mittenaere traveled to the Philippines, Indonesia, Haiti, the Cayman Islands, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, India, and Egypt, in addition to numerous trips around the United States and France. Iris Mittenaere began her television career in 2018 and has been attending gala dinners and major fashion weeks. In Forbes France’s Summer 2019 issue, Iris Mittenaere was interviewed and placed in France's top 5 of digital influencers on the 2019 list.

 

 

Adamari Lopez

Adamari López Torres is a Puerto Rican actress known for participating in several Puerto Rican and Mexican soap operas. She is currently a host on the Telemundo morning show Hoy Día and is a Latina ambassador for WW, formerly Weight Watchers.

A short, two chapter appearance on Vivir Para Ti followed in 1983, and after that, López decided to dedicate herself to her studies. She holds a B.A. in communications from the University of the Sacred Heart. She underwent cancer surgery. In 2006, it was reported that she is in remission. Since being diagnosed, she has campaigned for breast cancer awareness.

Mariana Rivera

Mariana is a Filipina commercial model and actress, best known for her roles in MariMar, Dyesebel, Amaya, Darna and Temptation of Wife. As a recording artist, Rivera has released two studio albums: the Marian Rivera Dance Hits and Retro Crazy. She was included in 2011's Top 20 Endorsers. She was hailed as FHM Magazine's Sexiest Woman in 2008, 2013, and 2014, setting the record of three cumulative victories through voting online and SMS.

She lent her star power to promote the rights of women and children with disabilities in the country as she was appointed by the Congress of the Philippines as Ambassador for Women and Children with Disabilities. She proposed a public-private partnership for the establishment of a special school for children with disabilities so that they can have better access to education.

Rena Sofer

Rena Sherel Sofer is an American actress, known for her appearances in daytime television, episodic guest appearances, and made-for-television movies. In 1995, Sofer received a Daytime Emmy Award for her portrayal of Lois Cerullo in the soap opera General Hospital. Since 2013, she has played Quinn Fuller on the CBS soap opera The Bold and The Beautiful.

Sofer is perhaps best known for her role as Lois Cerullo on General Hospital. Her portrayal of the outrageous Lois won Sofer a Daytime Emmy Award in 1995 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Sofer has appeared in several high-profile prime time television series in a guest star/supporting cast member roles: Seinfeld, Melrose Place, The Chronicle, Ed, Friends, Spin City, Blind Justice, Ghost Whisperer, 24, NCIS, and Two and a Half Men.

Cheslie Kryst

Cheslie Corrinne Kryst is an American television presenter and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss USA 2019. As Miss USA, she represented the United States at the Miss Universe 2019 competition and finished in the top ten. Previously, she had been crowned Miss North Carolina USA 2019, becoming the third woman from North Carolina to win Miss USA. Outside of pageantry, Kryst is a licensed attorney and has served as a correspondent for Extra since October 2019.

With her win, 2019 became the first year that all four major United States-based pageants were won by black women. She is the founder of the fashion blog White Collar Glam, dedicated to helping women dress professionally in white-collar jobs. In 2020, Kryst received a nomination for Outstanding Entertainment News Program at the 47th Daytime Emmy Awards due to her position as a New York correspondent for Extra.[

Rina Mor

Rina Messinger is an Israeli lawyer, writer and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Universe 1976. She was the first Miss Israel ever to win the Miss Universe crown. In 1989 and 2004 she was a judge in the Miss Israel competition. In 1981, she wrote a book on her experience as Miss Universe. In 1991, she began studying law at Tel Aviv University. After completing her bachelor's degree with honours, the family left for the Netherlands. She completed her master's degree there, specializing in family law. In 2002, after six years in the Netherlands, the family returned to Israel.

After her reign as Miss Universe, Messinger worked in public relations for the Jewish Agency and Israel Bonds in New York. After four years she returned to Israel and continued working in public relations for a private company. Mor-Goder is a lawyer in Tel Aviv, working on her doctorate and appearing every week on the morning show of Channel 10, where she gives advice on family law.

This all-women panel of judges will be responsible for electing for one deserving diva who will be crowned as the new queen. Miss Universe 2021, the 70th edition of Miss Universe, will be held on held on 12th December 2021 in Eilat, Israel. Andrea Meza of Mexico will crown her successor at the end of the event finale as eighty stunning beauties will compete at the most coveted pageant in the world.
