Miss Universe Australia 2019 held its grand finale last night and crowned Priya Serrao as Miss Universe Australia 2019 at Hotel Sofitel Melbourne. She bested twenty-eight candidates to win the coveted title and the privilege to represent Australia in Miss Universe 2019.

Miss Universe Australia 2019 was a sold-out show and was very well organised with perfect lighting and acoustic system. The grand coronation night was hosted by comedian Ash Williams along with Miss Universe Australia 2013 Olivia Wells. All the twenty -eight contestants, guests and sponsors were shown outstanding hospitality by Pink Tank Events, the official pageant sponsor and partner.

Miss Universe Australia 2018 Fracesca Hung took her last bow as the reigning queen as she handed over her crown last night. For her it was sure an emotional night as she was cheered on by the audience for a successful reign.

Claire Parker was one of the contestants who stood out from the commencement of the pageant but unfortunately couldn’t wear the crown in the end. She has lived the dream to represent Australia for fifteen years and has a lot of experience which made her a strong contender for the title. Unfortunately, she did not even place in the Top 10.

Second runner-up Marijana Radmanovic was another contestant who amazed everyone with her outstanding performance. Third time worked its charm for the beauty queen as she won a placement in the contest.

The newly crowned queen Priya is of Indian origin but she immigrated to Australia when she was just eleven and settled in Melbourne. Priya has two university degrees - in arts as well as in law, and has been working as a policy adviser for the Government of Victoria.

This was the first time Priya ever entered a beauty pageant, and ended up winning the national crown. She is a charming woman and can mesmerise anybody with her beauty. The beauty queen also holds resemblance to Meghan Markle, former actress and Duchess of Sussex.

Australia has so far won two Miss Universe titles, the last win being in 2004 when gorgeous beauty Jennifer Hawkins won the Miss Universe 2004 crown. The country has had an excellent performance record in Miss Universe in the last ten years with winning placement in the Top almost every year. All in all, the national contest was definitely a success and with Priya’s crowing, the pressure is now on to give a good performance at the international level.
