Miss Universe Canada 2019 held last night at John Bassett Theatre, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto, Canada concluded with the crowning of Alyssa Boston as the new queen. After being crowned, she earned the right to represent Canada in Miss Universe 2019. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Canada 2018 Marta Magdalena Stepien.
The newly crowned beauty stands 172 cm tall and hails from Tecumseh, Ontario. She was the crowd’s favourite since the beginning of the pageant and was also in our Top Hot Picks. She is an ambitious, confident and innovative woman who advocates mental health awareness. She studied at Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. The beauty is no stranger to pageantry as this industry is one of her biggest passions which where she intends to succeed.
Her entry in Miss Universe Canada Western Ontario preliminary pageant in 2014 led her to compete at the national level. She moved ahead to compete and win the title of Miss Swimsuit Canada in Montreal, Quebec and place in the top 20 at the international finals in 2016. After which she represented Canada in Cairo, Egypt at Miss Eco International 2018 where she could not win the spot but later ended up being placed as the first runner-up at Miss World Canada 2018.
With immense experience, she proved her worth right in the pageant. Along with the crowning of Alyssa, Megha Sandhu was crowned Miss International Canada 2019.
The event commenced with a great hype and firstly the Top 20 finalists were announced - Alice Li, Alysha Ortiz, Alyssa Boston, Bianca Foo, Carmelle Martinez, Jacqueline Wojciechowski, Kara Granger, Karema Batotele, Megha Sandhu, Miriam Mattová, Silvia Morar, Natasha Smith, Raman Sawhney, Rita Houkayem, Sara Winter, Sasha Lombardi, Svetlana Mamaeva, Tiyana Cackovic, Tysia Suzuki and Gabriella Walker. The Top 20 then moved ahead for another round after which the contestants were reduced to the Top 10 which included - Alyssa Boston, Bianca Foo, Carmelle Martinez, Kara Granger, Megha Sandhu, Silvia Morar, Rita Houkayem, Sara Winter, Sasha Lombardi and Tysia Suzuki. Before crowning the new queen, the Top 5 finalists were announced in which Alyssa Boston, Bianca Foo, Carmelle Martinez, Megha Sandhu and Sasha Lombardi secured their places.
The pageant was a grand affair of success as it witnessed various stellar performances and glamour all around as all the beauties looked extremely gorgeous and won almost everyone’s heart.
