The coronation night of the 71st edition of Miss Universe Canada was held on 14th May 2022 at Meridian Arts Centre, Toronto, Ontario where Amelia Tu was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2022 at the end of the event finale. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Canada 2021 Tamara Jemuovic.

Amelia Tu bested 53 other contestants to win the national crown. The stunning beauty hails from British Columbia. She is a Chinese Canadian dancer and environmentalist who speaks English, Mandarin and French fluently. Tu is also pursuing a simultaneous program in biology and business at the University of California, Berkeley.

The newly crowned Miss Universe Canada 2022 Amelia Tu’s court included –

1st Runner-up – Madison Kvaltin from Ontario

2nd Runner-up – Yuliya Shcherban from Saskatchewan

3rd Runner-up – Sophie Church from Nova Scotia

4th Runner-up – Oceanne Gemme-Rose from Quebec

Top 10 also included Gloren Guelos (also won Best Runway Model), Jilldeen Ezeudu, Maneet Khera, Milenis Masclarin Castellanos, Rayelle Sowers while Top 21 also included Dominique Doucette, Hanna Begovic, Lannie Houle, Lia Loebenberg, Marguerite Dieunie Kilama, Maria Becerra, Mattea Henderson, Quinn Teechma, Simran Sohal, Teagan MacDougall, Tobi Kamoru (also won Audience Favorite).

The hosts for the evening were Sonny Borelli and Chelsae Durocher. Also at the finale, a number of special awards were handed out to the delegates which included –

Best Canadian Dress – Gloren Guelos (White Rock, British Columbia)

Best Canadian Costume – Lannie Houle (Goodfish Lake, Alberta)
