The organization of Miss Universe Canada recently crowned Tamara Jemuovic as the new and official representative of Canada for Miss Universe 2021. She will represent the country at the 70th Miss Universe in Israel. Tamara succeeds Miss Universe Canada 2020 Nova Stevens for the crown.
Hailing from Toronto, Tamara stands 175 cm tall. She is a real estate broker, the CEO and Founder of PHNX Cosmetics, and a professional model. She pursued her Honors Degree from the University of Toronto, completed her graduation from the University of Hawaii, and her Real Estate License from the Ontario Real Estate College. She prides herself on being multilingual.
Tamara is not new to the world of beauty pageants as she was adjudged as the runner-up at Miss Universe Canada 2020 and was eligible to represent Canada at Miss International 2021 but recently was crowned as Miss Universe Canada 2021. She discovered her love for pageantry at a young age, where she was able to apply her personality and love for sharing platforms, she is passionate about. Tamara was honored to be crowned Miss Earth Canada 2016 and Miss Globe Canada 2019. Both the pageants, provided her with a memorable experience but further grew her desire to compete for the opportunity to become Miss Universe Canada.
The diva’s makeup brand, PHNX Cosmetics, uses only clean ingredients, is cruelty-free, and is made in Canada. Tamara believes that "everyone should be able to wear makeup that is made from clean ingredients and not have to compromise on the quality of their cosmetics." The birth of PHNX was intended to provide the cosmetic industry with a revolutionary change. She believes hard work, dedication, and perseverance are her driving forces towards success, and education has provided her with the compulsory tools to excel in various environments.
The gorgeous beauty queen is the spokesperson for "HOT PAWS", a fundraising group that benefits local animal shelters and international rescue missions. She believes that animals are very vulnerable because they rely on us to keep them healthy, safe, and happy. Tamara works towards educating people about the importance of protecting animals and bringing awareness to prevent animal cruelty. "They can’t speak up for themselves. It’s our duty to be their voice." She is someone who likes to take on new challenges and is a go-getter as she enjoys her evolution every step of the way.
As Miss Universe Canada 2021, she would love to travel the world speaking, educating, and creating awareness in children about the importance of self-worth, unity, personal growth/development, and being your authentic self. While growing up, she lived with her extended family, which she describes as having taught her some valuable lessons in life and having a solid support system.
Tamara aspires to own her Real Estate Brokerage that is tied to a local charity where a portion of the profits will go towards giving back to the community. She states, "Setting an example for our lucrative industry and showing them the importance of our contributions. Having a roof over your head should not be a privilege. I look forward to one day settling down and having my own family and continuing to travel to give my kids the opportunity to experience different cultures, religions, and traditions. "
The diva would like to use the platform to influence people by bringing awareness to world issues, encouraging healthier lifestyles, and empowering people to be kinder and make more mindful choices. She would also use her platform to advocate for the importance of the protection of animals and bring awareness to prevent animal cruelty. Tamara is excited about taking over the duties of Miss Universe Canada 2021 and has started her preparations for the competition.
