Miss Universe El Salvador 2020 Vanessa Velásquez has begun her journey to the 69th Miss Universe as she flew off to Florida, a few hours ago. The stunning diva seemed excited, waving her flag, as she took to her social media to share her departure, “Hey Universe... feeling the Miami vibes already!”

Wearing a breezy white dress Vanessa looked no less than an angel ready to take off accompanied by her manager and friend Gerardo Erquicia who also took to his socials to share, “The most beautiful thing about loving our country El Salvador, let's go for that Miss Universe crown!” He added,” Let's make history in Miss Universe with Miss El Salvador.”

Vanessa is 24-years-old and speaks fluent Spanish and English. She recently earned her bachelor’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Escuela de Comunicación Mónica Herrera in Santa Tecla, El Salvador.

Vanessa founded a social project called ‘Angel Hand by Vane’ which helps the neediest all throughout El Salvador. She is also a part of Smile Train, an organization with a goal to give every child with a cleft palate the opportunity to lead a healthy productive life without barriers.

Many of the candidates have already left for other countries to make a stopover, to cover quarantine or directly to Miami for the Miss Universe competition. Vanessa left today from the national airport to the United States where most likely she will first stop in Los Angeles, California for some formalities and then she will go directly to Florida for the main event.

Miss Universe 2020 will be held on 16th May 2021 in Hollywood, Florida. The delegates will be staying at the Hotel Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, USA. Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
