Lebanon has returned to Miss Universe pageant after an absence of four years. This year, Yasmina Zaytoun Miss Lebanon 2022 is representing Lebanon at Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ready to take the big stage tomorrow, i.e. 14th January 2023, Yasmina could be the drought-breaker for her country.

Zaytoun celebrated the Lebanese heritage and culture at the preliminary and national costume competition through her looks that showcase a sense of her home country. Yasmina walked on the stage of the national costume competition with a golden and green costume designed by the renowned Lebanese designer Charbel Zoe. She also dazzled at the evening gown competition in a golden shimmering evening gown also designed by Zoe. At the swimming competition as well, Zaytoun walked the stage in a bright red swimsuit with a cape with calligraphy over it.

Yasmina Zaytoun celebrates her country, and it shows in her efforts to showcase the cultures and traditions through her participation. Yasmina comes from a community where it’s the culture of people to love life, love unity, and pray for peace.

As her duty and sense of responsibility towards her country, Yasmina has pushed herself to help more families who live below poverty and unemployment through her own foundation ‘bemouin.lb’. Zaytoun is also an ambassador for the Children Cancer Center of Lebanon, a leading national organization dedicated to the treatment and support of kids and adolescents with cancer.

With her passion for motivational speaking, Yasmina started her own social media show “With Yasmina Show” in 2020. She is currently working towards her Master’s in Journalism at Notre Dame University, Lebanon. Zaytoun uses her platform to deliver important messages. She was inspired to start her campaign #QueensWithoutFilters, which provides an instagram overlay with a crown but no filters inspiring people to love themselves as they are.

Lebanon last placed in Miss Universe in 1973 when Marcèlle Herro placed in the Top 12 at Miss Universe 1973. The country holds one Miss Universe crown under its belt. Yasmina, if she places at Miss Universe 2022 semi-finals, will break the country’s 48 year pageant drought at the pageant.
