Teresa Ruglio crowned Miss Universe Malta 2019

At the coronation night of Miss Universe Malta 2019 held on 12th July 2019 at The Hilton Malta Conference Centre, Teresa Ruglio was crowned the new queen as she gained the right to represent Malta in Miss Universe 2019. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Malta 2018 Francesca Mifsud.

From Sliema, Teresa is a 23-year-old Venezuelan beauty who moved to Malta way back 2016 and has been working on her dream to become a motivational speaker. With her commendable performance at the contest from the beginning, she proved to be a front-runner and went on to win the coveted crown. Teresa was a part of our Top 10 favourites for the title as well. Teresa showed her amazing walk, self confidence and communication skills, all three most important to win the Miss Universe crown. Her court included –

First Runner-Up – Nicola Grixti

The national production was excellently organized with outstanding publicity. Twenty five contestants competed for the title and gave a tough fight to the winner.

The contestants who competed for the crown were – Rebecca Pace, Yasmin Falzon, Shania Micallef, Nicolà Grixti, Yanica McKay, Abigayle Griffin, Lilian Zamati, Daniela Shima, Sarah Camilleri, Oumaima Errami, Nicole Mallia, Mariah Polidano, Lorna Brincat, Kelly Vella, Emily Camilleri, Esther Boham, Kimberly Cristina, Teresa Ruglio, Kimberly Pelham, Nikki Ann Zammit, Katriona Friggieri, Marika Borg, Kimberly Buhagiar, Emma Agius, Kerry Lynn Brydon.

Last year, Francesca represented Malta in Miss Universe 2018 where she rendered an amazing performance but couldn’t secure a place in Top 20. Malta is yet to pioneer its win in Miss Universe pageant.
