Michele Gumabao’s ‘Your 200 Pesos’ to help the locals and front liners amidst Covid-19

The entire world is dealing with the crisis due to the outbreak of the pandemic Coronavirus. Immediate lockdown in the world was announced to stop the spread of the virus. But, due to the lockdown, there is a section of people who have ran out their jobs and are facing troubles in surviving. The front liners who are working tirelessly to stop the spread of the Covid-19 are also facing problems with the essentials like food, water, masks, hygiene facilities etc.

Miss Universe Philippines 2020 candidate Michele Gumabao who is going to represent Quezon City at the competition has been working with her team to help the front liners and the locals in Philippines with the basic yet necessary essentials; food, water, medical facilities, hygiene facilities etc. Michele Gumabao with the help of “Rektang Bayanihan” project has reached out to Pampanga's COVID-19 relief operations.

“Rektang Bayanihan” project was the local government's COVID-19 relief assistance which aims to help families who were adversely affected economically with the ongoing enhanced community quarantine brought about by the coronavirus crisis in the country. She distributed the food packs from her fundraising projects in Pampanga.

After helping the people under “Rektang Bayanihan” project, Michele started her own fund-raising campaign ‘Your 200 Pesos’ to raise awareness as well as funds for the locals and front liners in the Philippines. The campaign aims to raise funds for Metro Manila residents who were greatly affected by the pandemic. Michele and her boyfriend are taking trips to the places in Pampanga to give out the relief packages themselves have now decided to help ones in Metro Manila as well.

The beauty queen who is practicing social distancing at her home with her boyfriend is busy preparing for the competition as well as working on her relief packages for the people. Not only Michele but many beauty queens are stepping up to help the local people and front liners who are in utmost need for the essentials for their daily survival.

In one of her social media posts, the diva has thanked everyone who is working very hard to keep the world safe and secure. She urged her fans and followers to follow the protocols mentioned by the WHO and stay indoors. She also urged them to donate any amount they like for the ones who need the basic products to survive the pandemic.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2020 pageant was originally scheduled to happen on 3rd May at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. But in compliance with the country's efforts to stop the spread of coronavirus disease, the first-ever edition of the pageant has decided to postpone its coronation night.
