At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Universe Romania 2016 held on 20th December 2016, Teodora Dan was crowned as the winner. Teodora succeeds Roxana Oana Andrei Miss Universe Romania 2013, and will now represent the country at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant. For two years (2014 and 2015), Romania did not send any representative to the Miss Universe pageant.

27 year old Teodora stands tall at an astounding height of 175cm and hails from Bucharest. She was born in Craiova and is a student of Arts graduating in Painting Department from the University of Arts in Bucharest. Her dream is to open her own Fashion Design Workshop someday. After winning the crown, Teodora said that she is happy to be able to manage her childhood dream. She also added that representing her country at Miss Universe pageant will be the most beautiful experience for her.

Teodora claims that she will represent her country with honour and dignity whilst promoting tourism, culture and the tradition of her country in front of billions of viewers and spectators worldwide. She is not new to pageantry and has previously won the Miss Tourism Universe 2015 title. Therefore, the competition with this beauty is going to be tough, as she has her share of experience in the field of pageants. However, Romania has never won a Miss Universe crown. Miss Universe 2016 finals are slated to be held on 30th January 2017 in Philippines, and at the conclusion of the finale, Pia Wurtzbach of Philippines will pass on her crown to her successor.
