Earlier we reported to you how Miss France 2017 Alicia Ayliès is being criticised for her non- French looks and how the social media is flooded with racist remarks over the newly crowned. Alicia Ayliès won the Miss France 2017 title last weekend and the 18 year old native of French Guiana is France’s representative to Miss Universe 2017 pageant. Her crowning was followed by a controversy and Alicia is now facing another storm.

Alicia has been seen sporting her natural curls, but a recent photoshoot of her is becoming the topic of discussion. In her latest photoshoot, Alicia looks different; her hair looks smoother and straight and also her skin tone looks much lighter than what it is actually. It looks as if she was made to look more like a Frenchwoman, and this didn’t go well with the masses.

The photoshoot was for a magazine cover and the social media is actively claiming that the pictures have been photoshopped to make her look white. One twitterati tweeted, “Did I miss a step or...? No because for me she was mixed race, I don’t want to accuse anyone but calm down with photoshop.

Another tweeted, “Miss France is gorgeous with her natural hair, stop straightening her hair, she’s not white. Accept it.”

But the photographer, Benjamin Decoin, has denied photoshopping the pictures.  He denied to have altered the pics and has reasoned out the effect as the work of camera flash and the snowy beachfront background. “It is a picture with flash, snow artificial effects, so she’s very lit up,” says Decoin. Alicia is seen donning a stunning red dress carrying the Miss France sash. As compared to her other pictures, the beauty does appear different as her skin tone is noticeably different and her hair appears straighter and less curly.

Alicia has always been comfortable in her curls and even during the coronation night of Miss France, she said, “I am very happy to keep my hair natural! When I arrived (in France for the competition), I was asked how I wanted to style it. I was never offered an easy solution to smooth it out. I prefer to keep my identity.”

Right from her crowning, the beauty queen has been facing racist comments but she didn’t lose her cool and has kept her calm throughout. “People may need to see a Miss France of color. I represent the overseas, it is a matter of pride for me,” said Alicia.
