Miss France, the national beauty pageant was introduced in 1920 with the motto of ‘The most beautiful woman of the France’ by Maurice de Waleffe. The right to the trademark is owned by Miss France SAS. Miss France 2002 Sylvie Tellier is the director general of Miss France SAS.

The national pageant is responsible for sending the contestants to international beauty pageant such as Miss Universe and Miss World.

Miss France 2015 was held on December 6' 2014 at the Zenith of Orleans. Miss France 2014, Flora Coquerel, crowned Camille Cerf as her successor, Miss France 2015.

Miss France 2016 was the 86th edition of the Miss France. It took place on 19 December 2015, when Iris Mittenaere was announced as the winner and the successor of Miss France 2015 Camille Cerf, during the coronation event held at the Zenith of Lille.

The 87th edition of the pageant, Miss France 2017 is scheduled to be held on 17 December’ 2016. Thirty regional beauties are participating in the beauty contest pageant and competing for the title and crown of Miss France 2017. The winner will succeed the Miss France 2016, Iris Mittenaere.
