The Miss Universe Romania organization has recently announced an important event update as they have officially pulled out of the 71st edition of Miss Universe competition. The organization released an official statement as they informed the effective pause on this year's edition of Miss Universe Romania.

“We were looking forward to the boot camp week, the grand final, and choosing our 3rd consecutive queen, after Miss Bianca and Miss Carmina. Unfortunately, due to new events that we could not anticipate, our plans have changed. It was our honor to be a part of the beautiful MU family for two incredible years, and we surely hope to see you all again in 2023,” they shared.

“Nonetheless, this is NOT a final goodbye! We are still with you and we will continue to give you the updates you deserve,” they added, indicating that this does not mean that Romania will definitely not participate as it is possible for another organization to obtain the license for this year.

For the past three editions, the organization has selected Romania's representative to the Miss Universe pageant. The three queens crowned under the organization were, Miss Universe Romania 2019 Dorina Chihaia, Miss Universe Romania 2020 Bianca Tirsin and Miss Universe Romania 2021 Carmina Cotfas.
