The Miss Universe Thailand organization hosted the 2021 edition for the national pageant last night, where Anchilee Soctt-Kemmis was crowned as the new queen and will represent Thailand at the upcoming Miss Universe 2021 pageant. She succeeded Miss Universe Thailand 2020 Amanda Obdam for the title.

22 years old Anchilee is Thai Australian model; originally from Chachoengsao but currently she lives in Bangkok, Thailand. She has a Bachelor’s degree from University in Sydney majoring in Sociology. She currently works as a curve model in Bangkok but through her work, Ann's mission is to celebrate ourselves, our uniqueness, love our own beauty by setting our own standards. Through this, she hopes each and every one of us reminds ourselves that we are real size and our real size is beautiful.

The beauty is here to challenge the Thai beauty standards with her online social movement #RealSizeBeauty, to empower women to be proud and fully embrace their real bodies. “I think it will empower women, particularly Thai women, by really showing how liberating it is, once you accept yourself for who you are and celebrate your individuality,” she explains.

Miss Universe Thailand 2021 Anchilee Scott-Kemmis’s court includes –

First runner-up: Tharina Botes

Second runner-up: Nanthiya Suwansaweang

Third runner-up: Kasama Suetrong

Fourth runner-up: Pimnara Vonzurmuehlen

During the Top 5 round, Anchilee was asked how the country should be preparing for Thailand’s full reopening and she answered, “I think we all need to get vaccinated and we should have the right to choose what vaccine is best for us and our bodies, because that is liberty and it is a right. I think having the comfort of choosing what vaccine is right for you will give people more confidence and open their hearts more to opening the country, especially if there’s any hesitation.”

After being crowned as the new queen, Ann took to her social media to express her gratitude as she wrote, “Thank you everyone for sending me power on this beautiful night. I am honoured to represent Thailand and will do everything in my power for you all. To everyone reading this who doesn’t the standard: Tonight, we made our own and we did it for our young girls growing up too. Thank you again and again.”

The newly crowned queen will now represent Thailand at the upcoming Miss Universe 2021 pageant. Miss Universe 2021 will be the 70th Miss Universe pageant, to be held in December 2021 in Eilat, Israel. Andrea Meza of Mexico will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Congratulations queen!
