Miss Uruguay tv took to their official social media to announce the appointment of Carla Romero as the new Miss Universe Uruguay 2022 as she became the official representative of Uruguay at Miss Universe 2022. She succeeds Miss Universe Uruguay 2020 Lola de los Santos.

Carla Romero, on winning the title, took to her official social media as she wrote, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. We’re ready Universe! Uruguay is here to play. I’m your Miss Universe Uruguay 2022. Thank you to all who believe in me and my potential. I invite you to join me in this adventure.”

Carla Romero is 24 years of age and a business administration graduate. She is also an image consultant from Montevideo. Not new to the pageant world, Carla also competed at Miss Mundo Uruguay 2022 and placed as one of the Top 8 finalists.

Uruguay is yet to pioneer its win at Miss Universe and its highest placement was in 1985 when Andrea Beatriz Lopez Silva who finished as the fourth runner-up.

Miss Universe 2022 will be the 71st edition of the pageant which will be held at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana on 14th January 2023. Harnaaz Sandhu of India will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
