The Miss Universe Vietnam organization hosted a press conference on 16th April 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City, where the organization granted a special golden ticket to Do Nhat Ha as she was introduced into the Top 71 delegates competing for the Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 title.

Do Nhat Ha was announced as the only transgender contestant to receive a ticket to continue after the casting round. With this result, the list of reality TV round contestants is 71, instead of 70 as previously announced. This is the first time in the history of the contest that there is such an exception.

An emotional Do Nhat shared, “I appreciate the opportunity given to me by the organizers. Standing on the contest stage is my dream and my desire. When I held the special ticket in my hand, I cried. I will try my best. I do my best to express myself and spread the voice of the LGBT community.”

Even though the diva has made into the competition, according to the official regulations, she will not be competing for the official prizes of the contest. She will not compete in the Top 10, Top 5 or the Miss title. However, she has a chance to enter the Top 41 if she wins the reality TV show.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Nhat, head of the organizing committee said, “We give opportunities to transgender candidates because we want them to express themselves on stage and convey the voice of their community to everyone.”

The Miss Universe Vietnam organization is all set to host the 2022 edition of the national pageant soon, where stunning divas from all over the country will compete for the national title as the winner will be crowned to represent Vietnam at Miss Universe 2022. Nguyen Huynh Kim Duyen Miss Universe Vietnam 2021 will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
