At the conclusion of the finale of Miss Universo Chile 2016 held on 12th November 2016, Catalina Cáceres was crowned as the winner. Catalina succeeds Miss Universe Chile 2015 Maria Belen Jerez Spuler, and will now represent the country at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant to be held on 30th January 2017 in Philippines.

Hailing from Huechuraba, Catalina is not new to the world of beauty pageants. She was Miss Earth Chile 2014 and represented the country at the Miss Earth 2014 pageant. She was also the winner of Miss Eco Chile 2015 and competed at Miss Eco 2015 pageant. Catalina placed fourth at the Miss Eco 2015 pageant and also won the Best in National Costume award. Looking at her pageant experience, it seems like she has a good amount of experience and knowledge when it comes to international pageants. This might work in her favour while competing for the Miss Universe 2016 title.

Standing tall at 176cm, Catalina looks like a promising bet for the title this year. The beauty is blessed with modelisque features and has the aura of a beauty queen. Sixteen gorgeous contestants competed for the title of Miss Universo Chile 2016. The national beauty pageant franchise is owned by Chilevisión.
